The Traverse City Christian Sabres left it all on the floor last night and lost a physical defensive battle with Lake Leelanau St. Mary 48-44. The Sabres had come back to tie it at 44 in the final minute, but couldn’t pull out the win in the season finale. Brock Broderick led the way in scoring with 16 points and added 3 assists. Levi Belanger had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds being a physical force on both ends of the floor. Elijah Mleko added 8 points, Cole Wierda 5 points and 6 rebounds, and Simeon Popa pulled down 7 rebounds. Elliott Molby came off the bench in the 4th quarter and hit his first shot a 3-pointer to help spark the Sabres. The Sabres finished the regular season 6-14 and now await the winner of Lake Leelanau St. Mary and Buckley next Wednesday night in the District Semifinals at Suttons Bay with tip-off at 6:00pm.
